| here are some random pictures from the last month or so...
last sunday morning, we went to daddy's store because he had to take care of some stuff...
so, while we waited for him to finish...ice cream for breakfast!  i know...a great start to the morning...
hangin' out with kayla...
yesterday, daddy had the day off (jewish holiday)...so, we ventured out to griffith park...
we rode the train...
eli rode a pony...(to get daddy's version of the story, go to carlos's xanga)...
then to the playground...
eli is such a great big sister...she LOVES to push kayla on the swing...
i was taking pictures and caught her sneezing...
before... after...such a snotty little girl...
 
our little money is SO active...(by the way, this is an understatement...)

it's hard to get a picture of her that isn't blury...
she just can't sit still...even in the car, she always undoes the velcro on her shoes...
her activity is no different in her crib...earlier this week, our little girl decided to climb/jump/fall out of her crib...it was actually pretty scary...it was about 2am and she was crying...we left her to cry and then all of a sudden a loud *thump*...we turned on the lights and she was kimchee squatting on the floor. she managed to land on her feet somehow...
so in attempt to keep her from doing it again, my very creative and resourceful husband came up with this...
we did this for 1 night and decided to try something else...we bought a crib tent. we contemplated getting one for eli when she was climbing out of the crib, but opted not to because she was 2 and we decided to transition her into a big girl bed...
with this one, she's too young...we had to get it...
it has mesh all the way around the inside of the crib, too...this is good because last week, she woke up in the middle of the night with each of her legs stuck between a railing...
here is big sister testing it out for her...eli likes it, kayla doesn't...

| my little girl is...well, still little, but growing up so fast. she turned 3 a couple of weeks ago! here are some pictures...

every cake eli eats, we have to separate the cake from the frosting (because of her dairy allergy), but i found a non-dairy frosting mix...and she finally got to eat frosting on her cupcake! what a treat!

on her actual birthday, she wanted to go to red robin...here she is watching them sing their "happy birthday" song to her...she was L VING it...
blowing out the non-existent candle on her sundae (where are the days when they used to give you a slice of mud pie for your birthday?  )...

it's begun...kayla is mobile! she is not only crawling, she is grabbing onto WHATEVER (doesn't matter the height of the object...case in point, picture below) and standing up...the last few nights have been brutal as she'll wake up, grab onto her crib railing, stand up, and not know how to get down...actually, she does know how to get down...maybe she just doesn't want to...
a few weeks ago, sophia and family came to visit us. here is a picture of the 4 kids together...
we were tired of being eli's human jungle gym, so we got here something to climb up on and slide down...

| this morning, kayla woke up around 6:45 or 7 and she was kinda playing, kinda not...
carlos was up, getting ready for work...and trying not to make eye contact with her because if he does, then it's game over...she wants to be picked up. carlos manages to get dressed and out of the room without making eye contact, but in order to buy me a little more sleeping time, he stands at the doorway and starts tossing toys into kayla's crib. haha! i was half asleep at this point, but then i realized what he was doing...i think i started laughing, but then fell back asleep. such a creative and resourceful guy my husband is! ya gotta love him! by the way, if you're wondering, i got to sleep another 20 minutes or so... thank you carlos!
